			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SLOW Food Byron Bay is hosting a  dinner which draws on the bounty of our ocean, utilising sustainable and unusual ingredients, in traditional yet interesting manner. The venue, Pacific Dining Room, uses fresh seafood and Byron Bay&#8217;s famous local produce, either sourced from local growers or its own kitchen garden. Chef David Moyle will introduce his menu and the philosophy behind his choices.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>New South Wales / Byron Bay / Sun 18 Oct 2009 / Join Slow Food Byron Bay convivium at Ganngjalah Cultural Gardens / a guided tour of these wonderful native botanic gardens will be followed by a bush-tucker lunch ‘On the tukka trail’, featuring bunya nut pesto and hummus and barbequed bush tomato sausages. The bunya nut is one of only four Australian foods in Slow Food’s Ark of Taste, a project that gives international recognition to forgotten foods or foods at risk of loss. <em>Ganngjalah</em> means place of learning and here, right on our doorstep, we have an opportunity to learn of the great work these guys are doing, gathering seeds and building a wonderful native garden. Time: 11:00am &#8211; 4:00pm. Venue: 215 Mount Burrel Road, Mount Burrel. Directions: about 20km past Uki on Kyogle Road. Bring your own wine or soft drinks, playtes, cutlery and glassware, and wear appropriate ‘bush’ footwear and clothing. Fee: $40 members, $45 guests. He has an extensive knowledge and understanding of olive oil and an ability to impart this information with a simple tasting class.
